Differences in Surgical Techniques
There are some important differences in what you can expect during a traditional or mini facelift surgery.
A traditional full facelift involves larger incisions that are hidden beneath the hairline, spanning from the temples behind the ears. This allows Dr. Passaretti to address nearly all areas of the face during the procedure. For instance, if you are concerned with the appearance of your neck, Dr. Passaretti will likely recommend a full facelift over a mini facelift. In contrast, a mini facelift concentrates on a more specific area of the face, generally around the cheeks and eyes.
During a mini facelift, a series of small incisions will be made behind the ears and beneath the hairline. Dr. Passaretti can often perform enhancements laparoscopically, meaning he will insert a tiny surgical camera through the incisions to guide his movements during the procedure.
During a full facelift surgery, Dr. Passaretti will tighten up the underlying tissue throughout the face, remove any excess skin, and smooth fat deposits to provide you with more defined, youthful features. Similar to a full facelift, during a mini facelift, Dr. Passaretti will gently tighten, reposition, and remove any excess tissue to achieve striking, yet natural-looking results.
Unlike a full facelift, which is typically performed using general anesthesia, many mini facelift patients will only require local anesthetic and sedation.
