Liposuction is an effective way to rid yourself of stubborn, excess fat deposits. It should not be looked at as a weight loss solution however. If you would like to enhance your body's natural curves with liposuction, we can help at the Fairfield County, Connecticut practice of Dr. David Passaretti.
DR. DAVID PASSARETTI: Many people think of liposuction as a cure-all for weight loss. It's not. Liposuction is meant to contour the body and selectively reduce areas so we can make the body appear slimmer and more proportionate. My ideal candidate is healthy, goes after ideal body weight, but has areas of fat through resistance and dieting. These areas can include the thighs, hips, back, belly and chin. Given the same effort [phonetic] and diet as before the surgery, patients maintain a slightly lower weight after liposuction with much less trouble from their trouble areas.
It's important to keep in mind that liposuction will not fix skin contour, and therefore, it's not a cure-all for cellulite or other irregularities.
We'll talk about your health and how you'll get the most out of this procedure when we meet.
